Some may think we don’t need early education of nanotechnology and nanomaterials because children need to learn the larger scale world first. However, we thought differently -- we wanted to let children know how cool nanomaterials are!

Our education project is aiming to develop a children’s storybook about our famous 2D material and create activities related to the storybook for K-3 classroom setup. The storybook and activities will be educationally effective in enjoyable forms. This project is initiated and led by Juyoung Leem, a graduate student in I-MRSEC IRG-2, Tatiana Stine, Magnet teaching specialist and coach, and Michael Cai Wang, assistant professor at the University of South Florida.

This project is supported through seed funding from the Illinois MRSEC.
